This recipe will show you how to cook perfectly crispy bacon in your air fryer in under 10 minutes! You may never make it any other way!
Why is this the BEST tasting bacon you will ever eat? Well, there a a few reasons. First, the taste. It gets perfectly crispy with no extra greasiness like bacon that is cooked in a frying pan. Most of the grease falls into the bottom pan, so it is healthier than pan fried bacon too.
Second, the cleanup is a breeze! If your air fryer parts are dishwasher safe (check with manufacturer’s instructions) all you have to do is put the parts in the dishwasher. If your air fryer manufacturer recommends it, cover bottom pan with aluminum foil. When air fryer is still a bit warm, just wipe the inside walls down with a sponge.
Thirdly, it cooks in less than 10 minutes, if you buy thin sliced bacon! Perfect for a quick addition to your meal!
Be aware of the fact that different air fryers cook at different wattages. Therefore they will cook at different rates. The air fryer that I have based this recipe on the Cuisinart TOA60. I have really enjoyed learning how to cook with my air fryer in the last year. It is such a great time saver!
Tips for purchasing a new air fryer
Before you invest in a new air fryer, do your homework.
Buy an air fryer that is made by a reputable brand. I have heard terrible reviews on some of the knock-off brands.
Buy an air fryer that has a manual temperature control. I have found that I prefer to cook certain smaller items, like this bacon at low temperatures. They have less tendency to burn on the edges, yet finish off super crispy!
Buying an air fryer that is multifunction, increases your cooking capacity. For instance, for Christmas, I had multiple items in my oven, so I cooked a few things on the convection bake mode of my air fryer.
What you will need
All you need is good bacon. No additional ingredients needed.
Pro tips for cooking the best bacon ever!
Buy good quality bacon. Bacon that has no nitrates or nitrites is healthier and tastes better.
Cook at a lower temperature so that the edges don’t get too browned and the centers not done.
In the basket air fryers, the bacon grease may smoke. The best solution to avoid this is to add a few tablespoons of water to the bottom tray.
If cooking multiple batches of bacon, drain the grease from bottom tray, prior to doing an additional batch. Do not pour hot bacon grease in your sink, it will clog your drain.
How to cook bacon in the air fryer
- Lay bacon slices on air fryer basket. Do not overlap bacon.
- Air fry bacon at 325°F / 163°C.
How long does it take to cook?
For my air fryer, it takes 3-4 minutes on the first side. Then I flip them and fry them 3-4 more minutes. If the pieces are thicker, 5 minutes on each side is usually enough. We like our bacon extra crispy, so if you like yours less done, just adjust the time.
The first time you try a new recipe in your air fryer, make sure you watch the food closely, to avoid burning!
What can you make with it?
- Cheesy bacon muffins
- Chicken bacon Quiche
- Monte Cristo
- Bacon and egg potato salad
- Pea salad
- Bacon lobster stuffed grouper

Pam
This is perfect because I have this exact same air fryer, but I haven’t had much confidence for using it for anything but convection baking. Your bacon looks like it was fried in a pan – so much better than when I oven cook mine and it stay flat. Thanks for all the great tips!
