Helpful tips

  • Important to flip chips half way through the cooking process.
  • Cook at lower temperature so that they do not burn on the edges.
  • Best when made fresh!
  • Chips will get soggy if they are not eaten right away. To recrisp them, air fry for about 3 minutes. When they come out of the air fryer, they will still feel soggy, but after a few seconds, will be back to crispy!

How to make air fryer beet chips

  2. Air fry at 350°F / 177°C for 3 minutes. Remove from air fryer. Carefully flip over. Continue to air fry for another 3-4 minutes, until desired crispness.

Best if eaten fresh.
Can be stored in air tight container, at room temperature for a few days.
To recrisp, sir fry at 350°F /177°C for 3 minutes. Chips will not be crispy when you take them out of air fryer, but will crisp up within a few seconds.
Thinner chips may blow around a bit. Just readjust them when you flip. It will not affect the outcome of the chips!
General Air Fryer Tips
Air Fryers vary in wattage, and therefore in cooking times. This recipe is based using my Cuisinart TOA60. If your air fryer is different, carefully watch food the first time you make it, so that it doesn’t burn.
Preheating your air fryer will give you the best, crispiest result. Check your brand of air fryer user manual to see if preheating is recommended.
Air fryers preheat in about 3-4 minutes. Use cooking spray or a fine mist sprayer to spray food prior to cooking, with the exception of baked goods.
Don’t overcrowd foods so air can circulate all around. Flip foods over half way through cooking.

I think this has actually sold me on getting an air fryer! What a great recipe. I love beet chips but they can burn so quickly in the oven and take much longer to make.

    1. We really love ours, Gabby! We actually use it almost daily, because it is a multi function one. I would recommend getting a multi function. Especially with just the two of you, It is so fast to even bake in, because it no time to heat up!
