How to Host Stress-Free Holiday Meals
If big holiday dinners usually leave you worn out, it’s time to make them easier. With a little planning and a few simple tricks, you can stay organized, save time, and still enjoy your guests this year.
I put together a Complete Party Planner with simple printables and apps that keep the party running smoothly.

Start with a Plan
The secret to a smooth holiday meal is staying organized. You don’t need a fancy kitchen or professional tools. You just need a plan that keeps you one step ahead.
Make Your Guest List
Decide who’s coming early. If you’re new to hosting, start small. Once your list is set, send out messages or invites with the date and time so everyone knows what to expect.
If your table won’t fit everyone comfortably, plan a second dinner or host an open-house style party instead.
Plan the Menu
Write down every dish you want to serve, including appetizers, drinks, sides, and desserts. You can always tweak your plan later, but having it early helps you stay on track.
Your Holiday Meal Prep Kit includes a printable menu planner and checklist so nothing gets missed.

Make Your Shopping List
Once the menu is ready, go through your recipes and list what you don’t have. Keep your list on your phone so it’s easy to update.
Buy non-perishables early when they’re on sale. Cross them off as you go so you’re not stuck running to the store at the last minute.

Plan Your Timeline
A clear timeline is your best tool for a calm day. Spread out tasks so you’re not rushing.
The app included in the holiday prep kit will make the list for you!
One week before: Plan the menu, buy pantry items, and check dishes.
Three days before: Prep veggies, make sauces, and assemble casseroles.
Day before: Set the table, bake desserts, and chill drinks.
Day of: Reheat, roast, and enjoy the results.
Use the Make-Ahead Schedule in the kit to spread out the work so the day feels easy

Prep Serving Dishes
A few days ahead, pull out your dishes, bowls, and serving utensils. Wash them and cover them with a clean towel so they’re ready to go.
Count what you’ll need for each course so you’re not hunting for a platter when food comes out of the oven.

Plan Your Table and Decor
You don’t have to spend much to make it special. Use what you already have and add simple touches like greenery, pine cones, or candles.
Dollar store finds can look great when grouped together. A few tealights in small glass jars look warm and inviting once the lights dim.

Cook Ahead Wherever You Can
Make-ahead dishes save your sanity. Sauces, casseroles, stuffing, and veggie trays all hold up well.
Parboil vegetables, chill them, and finish cooking them on the big day. This frees up oven space and keeps things easy.
One to two days ahead, purchase the produce and perishables. Set the table.

The Big Day
Start early with the longest-cooking dishes, then move to sides and reheating.
Peel potatoes early and keep them covered in cold water until you’re ready. While the turkey rests, finish your gravy, sides, and rolls. A whole turkey needs to rest 45 minutes to 1 hour.
If someone offers to help, say yes. Let them set out the food, slice the turkey, or organize the leftovers.

After the Feast
Take a minute to sit down and enjoy what you created.
Once everyone’s full, accept help with cleanup. Have containers ready so leftovers can be packed quickly.
The Leftover Tracker in the kit helps you label, store, and use everything up on time
Keep It Simple Next Time
Once you host this way, you’ll never go back to the chaos. The Holiday Meal Prep Kit gives you everything you need to plan, prep, and enjoy every gathering.
Pour yourself a drink, put your feet up, and enjoy your guests. You earned it.

Grab the Menu Planner and Shopping List in the kit to map out your mains, sides, and dessert in one place
