Why should you make this dip?

- Incredibly easy. Only 10 minutes hands on time.
- Make it 1-2 days ahead.
- It’s everyone’s favorite dip.
- Only contains four ingredients.
- Great for last minute company.
- Perfect for summer picnics.
- Great for any time you need a quick appetizer.
- Customizable
If you want to, you can add fresh herbs, like parsley, chives or dill. You can also add a finely chopped scallion or green onion. They add a bit of color and flavor but the garlic powder is the only spice that is mandatory!
You can easily make this with crab or a combination of shrimp and crab, such as I did with this dairy free version!

Important tips for your success
- Super important! Do not use Miracle Whip or another sweet dressing. It really doesn’t pair well with the shrimp.
- You can cream cheese and mayonnaise with a mixer or blender before adding the other ingredients.
- If you prefer, you can absolutely use fresh or frozen cooked shrimp.
- Let the cream cheese really soften to make mixing the dip easy.
- If you don’t have time to fully soften the cream cheese, just smash it against to side of the bowl with a wooden spoon. It will incorporate with a bit of effort.
- Best if you let the flavors mingle for an hour.
- Refrigerate up to four days.
- Do not freeze leftovers.
- Most people prefer julienned vegetables.
How to serve it
- celery sticks
- carrot sticks or baby carrots
- sliced bell peppers or mini bells cut in half
- fresh cauliflower florets
- fresh broccoli florets
- scallions
- radishes
- fresh or blanched green or yellow beans
- cherry or grape tomatoes
- halved baby cucumbers or larger cucumbers cut into sticks
- snap peas
- small, fresh asparagus spears
- zucchini or yellow squash
- your favorite crackers
- your favorite sturdy chips

Love this recipe! I had one I used to make very similar but I lost it. Anyway, this is close to it. I added some frozen shrimp that I boiled, a little sour cream, and a little curry powder. The curry powder was in my other recipe and it’s a gamechanger! Thanks for the recipe!
You’re welcome Lynda. Glad that you liked it. The curry powder will give it a very different flavor, for sure.
It should be a big hit Agnieszka! There is never any left when I make it!
What a great quick and easy dip. Good for if you have some unexpected guests pop round.
Yes, it is quick and easy! Perfect for unexpected guests! Thanks, DanniI!
I could just eat that with a spoon on my own! I can get canned here in France so I’m giving this a go. As for the blogging it’s been lovely to meet such lovely people and share experiences. Thanks Beth!
I think you will really enjoy it Amanda! Thank you so much! It has been my pleasure to get to know you, as well!
