By the time January comes, we will pretty much be out of fresh fish. A good quality frozen fish comes in handy by then.

How to store leftover cooked fish

Package fish in aluminum foil after it reaches room temperature. Refrigerate. To reheat the fish bake at 350 for about 20 minutes, until hot.

You can use fresh, unbattered fish filets, like halibut, salmon, trout, cod, grouper, and the like. Just pan fry them until they are cooked through, about 145°F/ 70°C. Then proceed with assembling the sandwich.

Even if we do have fresh fish in the winter, sometimes is easier to buy ready one and beer batter sounds like a treat. I love your combination of aioli and candy jalapeno. I need to make it as well.

Oh my that is a towering sandwich, sounds lovely though and well worth getting messy over 😀 Ice fishing is typically very popular here but we are in the middle of the mildest winter we have seen in our 10 years here and no fear of any ice on our local lake 😮

    1. That’s funny Brian! We’ve had the coldest winter we’ve had in 10 years! Thanks so much for your comment! Totally worth getting messy over!

I absolutely love how you took those fish filets to the next level!! That is a sandwich that I would gladly eat every Friday during Lent! I’m the oddball that always got the fish sandwich at MacDonalds instead of a hamburger!
