Air Fryer Cinnamon Rolls
The air fryer is the perfect place to cook cinnamon rolls. They are done before the oven is preheated—Crispy on the outside and soft and chewy on the inside.

If you love a crispy outside, you have to use an air fryer when baking. It does such a great job that we never wait for the oven to preheat. You can make homemade cinnamon yeast rolls, or package, refrigerated cinnamon rolls.
These rolls are perfect for the holidays, picture the kids on Christmas morning, but they are also great for any old day you feel like an easy treat!
What You Need
From Scratch
- Flour: We use all-purpose flour.
- Sugar: Regular granulated sugar is fine.
- Yeast: We prefer Fleischmann’s Rapid Rise yeast for these cinnamon rolls.
- Salt: Table salt or fine sea salt.
- Water: Water must be warmed to 120-130°F for the rapid rise yeast. Check the recommendations on your packet of yeast.
- Butter: Add the butter to the water and melt it in the microwave or on the stove.
- Egg: One large egg.
For the filling
- Sugar: Again, use granulated sugar.
- Cinnamon: Play around with the quantity if you don’t like too much cinnamon flavor.
For the glaze
- Sugar: For the glaze, use powdered sugar.
- Butter: Use unsalted butter for baking.
- Milk: OR substitute cream or half-and-half.
- Vanilla: Pure vanilla extract. Or use our Cream Cheese Frosting.

For Refrigerated Canned Cinnamon Rolls
All you need is the package of cinnamon rolls. Most brands come with glaze, too.

How to Make Them

Line the cinnamon roll dough on a piece of parchment paper in the air fryer basket. Preheat the air fryer for a couple of minutes to 300°F. Air fry the rolls about four minutes. You can use parchment paper or aluminum foil.

Flip the rolls halfway through the cooking time. Carefully flip the rolls over so that the bottom side faces up to cook that side. Air fry 3-4 minutes more until the rolls are golden brown.
Let the rolls cool for about ten minutes. Then, using the glaze provided, glaze the side of the cinnamon roll with the most cinnamon on it.
How to Store Leftovers
Store leftover rolls in an airtight container on the counter for up to four days.

Air Fryer Cinnamon Rolls
Ingredients
- 1 package cinnamon rolls
Instructions
- Preheat your air fryer for about two minutes.
- Open the package of cinnamon rolls. Arrange them in the air fryer basket on a piece of parchment paper. (Check manufacturer's directions to ensure it's safe to use it.) If you want the outer crust crispy, set them apart from each other. You can put them closer together, but where they touch, they will be soft rather than crispy.
