Halloween Charcuterie Board Ideas
This Halloween Charcuterie board is an easy, fun appetizer for your Halloween festivities. It only takes fifteen minutes to put it together!

There is no right or wrong way to set up a charcuterie board. They have become so popular that everywhere you look on Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube, you will find a board for every occasion.
There is no end to the variations you can make. Tailor them to your tastes. Themed boards are perfect for holidays and special occasions.
Why Make a Charcuterie Platter?
- Grazing boards and platters are much easier than many traditional holiday meals.
- They are a different, fun presentation.
- No two boards will be the same, in fact, even if you had the exact same ingredients for two boards, they would appear different because of the way they are displayed.
- These boards can be scaled big enough to feed a huge crowd of guests or small enough for just two.
- Both sweet and savory additions can be added to boards.

Ingredients on This Board
Cheeses
- Swiss cheese
- Colby Jack cheese
- American cheese – we use small cookie cutters to make the pumpkins, bats and ghosts
- Sharp Cheddar cheese (the bats)
- Black Cow Cheddar cheese
- Medium Brie (the casket)
Meats
- Dark rum Salami
- Fat-free Ham
Fruits
- Moon Drop Grapes
- Ginger Gold Apples
- Xtra Large Blackberries
- Dried Turkish Apricots
Froufrou Stuff (everything else)
- Large black olives
- Candied Pecans
- Dark Chocolate-covered Cashews: use any nuts like walnuts, almonds, peanuts or hazelnuts.
- Mellowcreme pumpkins and fall leaves
- Candy corn
- Gummy eyeballs
- Roasted Red Pepper Hummus with Blue Corn Tortilla Chips
- Cheez-its (not pictured)
- Water crackers (not pictured)
- Crostini (not pictured)

As was previously stated, literally anything goes. Some other fun additions to a Halloween board would be mozzarella balls with candy eyeballs, celery sticks, carrot sticks, dried apples, caramel-coated popcorn, green grapes, pretzels, mini pumpkins or gourds to add a festive touch and other garnishes to make the board festive.
How to make it

Add dips and small or round ingredients in small bowls.
Get the meats and cheeses cut and folded however you would like to display them.

Place the larger items on the board first. Notice that we left room for the casket to fit on the board next.
Then, we fill in the gaps with all of the other ingredients.
If there are things that will not fit on your board, display them next to the main board. In this case, we displayed the hummus and tortilla chips off to the side of the main board.
What Board to Serve it on?
You don’t need a specialty board to display your charcuterie platters. Any large surface will work, depending on how many people you are serving. Platters, plates, even countertops or tables covered with festive paper will work.
The same goes for bowls to hold dips and small ingredients. Any small vessel will work. Just pick something that goes with your theme. In this case, the orange bowls and the mini cast iron Dutch ovens.

What to do With Leftovers
Leftovers can be packaged in airtight containers or plastic bags and stored in the refrigerator for 3-4 days if they are refrigerated within 2 hours! Pack alike items together.
According to the FDA, meats and cheeses left out for more than 2 hours should be discarded. If you are serving outside, particularly on a hot day (over 90°F), err on the side of caution and discard anything left out for more than an hour.
Pro Tips for Your Success
- Plan your board ahead of time. Search the internet for images and decide what you would like to include on the board.
- Make a list and shop with it at the grocery store. Try not to deviate from the list and add lots of items, which will end up costing much more.
- Use what you already have on hand. Instead of buying additional items at the store, you can use mustard, jams, and sauces from your refrigerator.
- Do ahead. Some things can be done the day before your celebration: wash and dry the fruit, slice the hard cheeses, and fold or slice the meats.
- Incorporate fun seasonal items and spooky decorations like coffins, skeletons, skeleton hands and plastic spiders. Pick them up at the dollar store so you don’t spend as much money.
- Halloween is also a great time to make a dessert board and add Halloween candy, treats and cookies.
- Cheeses have the best flavor at room temperature, so let the cheeses sit out of the fridge for at least 30 minutes.
