This Shrimp Crab Dip for Crudités is gluten free and dairy free! It is so tasty, I ate the leftover for dinner last night with nothing else!
You know that when my Mom comes over for a picnic, I try to make her a gluten and dairy free version of the dishes I make for everyone else! That way, she can enjoy the lovely dishes that everyone else is enjoying! There is no course that is more difficult to transform than appetizers! You know, all of the gooey cheesy filled puff pastry, the queso dips, cream cheese and sour cream based dips, etc.
I have found a few vegan cheeses that are half way decent as substitutes but I have a lot of trouble with gluten free pastries! I have found a very nice tofu based cream cheese that transforms this easy, shrimp dip very nicely!
It is creamy and delicious! If you can’t eat lactose this a wonderful treat!
This dip can be made wtih just shrimp, just crab or both, depending on what you have in the house!
This Shrimp Crab Dip – Dairy free is so quick and easy to make! I made this version and another for the rest of the gang with real cream cheese. Therefore, I used half of the can of shrimp and crab! Just soften the cream cheese, mix the rest of the ingredients in a bowl. Then let it chill for at least an hour to allow the flavors to mingle!

Shrimp Crab Dip for Crudités - Dairy Free!
This is delicious version of my shrimp dip that takes less than 5 minutes to make and has a fraction of the calories and fat of my traditional shrimp dip, but you'd never know it!
- 2 green onions green tops only
- 1 tsp fresh, chopped parsley
- 1/2 can tiny shrimp
- 1/2 can crab meat
- 1/2 c. mayonnaise
- 6 oz tofu based cream cheese substitute
- 1 tsp garlic powder
Mix all ingredients in a medium bowl, thoroughly.
Let chill for at least 1 hour for the flavors to mingle.
Serve with vegetables or crudite'
